Apostle Dr. David Mbewe, the president of Liberation for Economic Freedom, has clarified his identity as a businessman rather than a pastor. Speaking to his supporters at a recent rally, Mbewe emphasized that although he founded a church, his primary focus is on business, where he has successfully employed numerous individuals.
“I am not a pastor, but a businessman,” Mbewe stated, underscoring his entrepreneurial background.
He explained that while he founded a church, his primary focus has always been on business ventures, through which he has created employment opportunities for many individuals.
Mbewe used the platform to rally support for his candidacy and that of his party’s members of parliament in the upcoming 2025 general elections. He called on the electorate to vote for him and his team, highlighting his business acumen and leadership experience as key attributes that would benefit the country if he were elected.
Dr. Mbewe’s statement has sparked debate among the public, with some questioning his consistency, noting that he has previously portrayed himself in different lights. As the 2025 elections draw closer, these discussions are likely to continue, with voters weighing Mbewe’s various roles and statements.
