CHAKWERA URGES MUST GRADUATES TO EMBRACE CONSCIENTIOUSNESS

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has urged 610 new graduates from the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) to embrace conscientiousness as a critical skill for success in life and their careers. Speaking at the university’s 5th congregation on Thursday, Chakwera emphasized the importance of paying attention to details and staying informed about key developments.

“You do not want to miss important developments in the country or in your area, as they may impact your life and career,” Chakwera said.

He also stressed the need for creative thinking, noting that opportunities often arise in situations where others see only problems.

The President, who serves as Chancellor of MUST, advised the graduates to hone their ability to spot and correct mistakes, emphasizing that unchecked errors can lead to serious consequences.

“Conscientiousness is a skill that will set you apart and is a hallmark of excellence in any field,” he added.

Vice Chancellor Professor Address Malata reaffirmed the university’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation, ensuring that MUST continues to contribute to national development and community needs.

Graduates from the Malawi Institute of Technology, Ndata School of Climate and Earth Sciences, Bingu School of Culture and Heritage, and the Academy of Medical Sciences participated in the ceremony.
