President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has called on Malawians to embrace contact and dialogue as key tools to maintaining peace and fostering national development.
Speaking during a whistle-stop tour at Chiwamba Headquarters in Lilongwe North East Constituency, the President encouraged citizens to register in preparation for the September 2025 general elections.
“Malawians are known for being peaceful. We have no time for violence, and we must all love peace,” Chakwera said, emphasizing that development agendas thrive in peaceful environments.
He highlighted the need for infrastructure improvements, particularly upgrading rural roads, to enhance mobility and facilitate the transportation of farm produce.
Chakwera also urged citizens to remain optimistic despite the country’s challenges. “Let us not lose hope. Things will get better. Let’s register in large numbers to vote for the leaders of our choice,” he said.
Senior Chief Chimutu expressed gratitude for the government’s development efforts under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and praised the timely distribution of Affordable Input fertilizer this year.
The President’s tour focused on mobilizing voters and promoting dialogue as a foundation for a peaceful and progressive Malawi.
