As one way of increasing faith among people with hearing impairment, Kafita CCAP Church under Nkhoma Synod has introduced Sign Language Interpretation during its Sunday services.
This sign language interpretation started on Sunday through all three church services at the church.
Making announcement during English service, the church is geared to promote inclusiveness in all its church activities.
One of the representatives from Malawi National Association of Deaf (MANAD) said the organization is lobbying and advocate for rights of deaf people such as education, health, spiritual among others.
“We have to make sure that all people regardless of their disability take part in church services because there is no human rights without sigh language”, he said.
He said through sign language interpretation during church services, people with hearing impairment will get access of spiritual messages.
He further urged people to utilize the use of sign language in the church by mobilizing those with similar problem in their homes so that they can be included in church services.
November is disability Month in Malawi which runs from 3 November to 3 December which will end with the International Day of Persons with Disability on 3 December, 2025.
