Twenty-one individuals are set to face court proceedings following their arrest in a series of operations conducted by Balaka Police on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
The intelligence-driven exercise targeted various locations, including Mpulula, Mponda, and Balaka Township, resulting in multiple charges.
According to Balaka Police Station Public Relations Officer Inspector Gladson M’bumpha, the suspects aged 18-49 have been charged with various offences such as theft by servants, gambling, possession of counterfeit products, possession of petroleum products without a permit and escaping lawful custody.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon to answer the charges against them.
