Blantyre City Chief, Isaac Jomo Osman, has offered employment to a recent graduate of Luso Technical College, a gesture that has drawn praise from many community members.
The beneficiary, Cuthbert Chikabadwa, completed his studies in video production and is expected to take up a position at the Blantyre City Council.
Osman made the announcement at a graduation ceremony held at Golden Peacock Hotel, where 250 students received certificates after completing various skills-training programmes at the institution.
Speaking during the event, Osman said he was compelled to offer Chikabadwa a job after observing the young man’s talent.
“I found it important to employ this young man because he has the skills,” he said.
Members of the public have since commended Osman for the move, describing it as a positive step toward promoting unity and encouraging support for youth development regardless of one’s background.
