RED LIONS CALL ON ZOMBA RESIDENTS FOR SUPPORT

The Red Lions, newly promoted back into the TNM Super League, have appealed to residents of Zomba to stand firmly behind the team as it begins its campaign in Malawi’s top-flight football.

Team patron Major Eric Shongwe Masenda said people of Zomba should consider the club as their own and take an active role in supporting it, from the main committee level to ordinary fans in the stands.

Masenda emphasized that unity between the team and the community is crucial for Red Lions’ success, noting that supporters play a major part in boosting the players’ morale.

He also confirmed that the team will be using the Zomba Community Ground for all its home matches, a move he believes will strengthen the bond between the club and local residents.

The patron further announced that the club has opened its doors to companies and football experts willing to come forward and contribute towards the management and growth of the team.

According to Masenda, such expertise and corporate support will be important in creating sustainable financial structures and improving the technical capacity of the squad.

Meanwhile, in the NBS National Division League, Baka City, Mitundu Baptist and Namitete Zitha remain locked in a fierce battle for the two remaining promotion slots into the TNM Super League.
