CABINET MINISTERS ASSURES MALAWIANS ON LANDS SANITY IN CITIES.

Three cabinet Ministers have joined hands to address issues the growing concern of land grabbing in Lilongwe and other cities and district councils.

This has revealed in during the press briefing held in Lilongwe.

The joint briefing, led by Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Chimwemwe Chipungu, Minister of Local Government Dr Ben Phiri, Minister of Homeland Security, Peter Mukhito and Minister of Information Communications and Technology, Dr. Shadric Namalomba aimed to shed light on the Government’s stance against this malpractice.

Dr. Phiri warned city and district councils involved in land grabbing that the law would be enforced, and those implicated would face arrest.

The minister highlighted Government’s commitment to protecting public land and ensuring orderly development.

The meeting comes as Lilongwe and other cities face increased land grabbing, threatening urban planning and development.

Chipungu assured Malawians that government is determined to clamp down on these activities and restore sanity in the sector.
