CHIKWANJE PLEDGES TO BOOST DPP COORDINATION FOR 2025 ELECTIONS

Newly appointed Regional Governor for the Eastern Region of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Daud Chikwanje, has pledged to strengthen coordination within the party to secure more votes in the upcoming elections.

Chikwanje, who succeeds Sheikh Imran Ntenje, expressed his commitment to diligently serve the party by enhancing coordination through its structures.

“The party will safeguard the region from adversaries while fully supporting the party President, who resides in the region,” Chikwanje stated.

He highlighted the importance of cooperation among all party structures to ensure success in the 2025 elections.

“As governor, my role is to coordinate our efforts for the challenges ahead. I will leverage my skills in coordination, leadership, and conflict management to ensure everyone is united,” he added.

Chikwanje also called on DPP supporters to rally behind him in the quest to return to power after the 2025 general elections.

His appointment follows DPP President Peter Mutharika’s decision to assign former Regional Governor Imran Ntenje to an advisory role.

The DPP recently held an elective convention in Blantyre, where the position of party President went unopposed to Mutharika. Several regional positions, including Regional Governors, Director of Youth, and Director of Women, are expected to be filled soon.
