Aamir Patel, Chairperson of the Lilongwe Suni Foundation, has urged Muslims in Malawi to promote peace, unity, and generosity.
Speaking during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Lilongwe Suni Foundation, Patel encouraged Muslims to support the sick, the needy, and the underprivileged.
“As Muslims, we must honor the holy month by continuing to help those who lack resources, food, and medical care,” Patel said.
He also acknowledged the country’s economic challenges, urging unity and faith. “If we come together as a nation and pray to God, He can hear us. Through His mercy and power, the economy can recover, and people can thrive,” he added.
Patel extended his best wishes to the Muslim community and praised their contributions to national unity and development.
Assistant Manager at Lilongwe Suni Foundation, Abdul Rahman Chibisa, echoed Patel’s message, calling on Muslims to celebrate Eid responsibly while upholding religious principles.
“We urge Muslims to foster national unity rather than division and to contribute towards improving the economy,” Chibisa said.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. The day is celebrated with congregational prayers, charitable giving, and festive gatherings with family and friends.
