FINANCE MINISTER RALLIES SUPPORT FOR CHAKWERA’S RE-ELECTION, CITES DEVELOPMENT GAINS

Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Honourable Simplex Chithyola Banda, has called on Malawians to re-elect President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera in the upcoming elections, saying continuity in leadership is key to sustaining political and socio-economic progress.

Speaking at a rally in Mndolera Constituency, the Kasungu South legislator emphasized that Malawi needs stable and visionary leadership to achieve lasting development.

“What we all need is sustainable development in all dimensions. To attain this, we need good leadership. Let us maintain this government and vote for President Chakwera in September. The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) remains the only solution to our challenges,” Chithyola said.

He praised President Chakwera as a visionary leader committed to advancing the country across various sectors.

“President Chakwera is a complete leadership package. He is here to develop Malawi politically, economically, socially, technologically, environmentally, and legally,” he added.

Addressing concerns of internal divisions, Chithyola dismissed reports of factionalism within the MCP, affirming that the party remains united and focused.

“MCP is united to the core. The opposition is spreading lies to disrupt our unity, but we remain strong. Let’s stay on the winning side,” he said.

The rally was marked by high enthusiasm, with supporters showing confidence in President Chakwera and Honourable Abel Ephraim Kayembe, the party’s shadow MP for Dowa Mndolera.

Several cabinet ministers accompanied Chithyola Banda at the rally, showcasing a united front in support of the president’s re-election bid.
