CCJP URGES ZOMBA RESIDENTS TO VOTE PEACEFULLY IN SEPTEMBER ELECTIONS

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) in the Diocese of Zomba has encouraged residents to vote for candidates of their choice in the September 16 elections.

Speaking during voter awareness meetings at Thondwe, Zaone, and Jali markets, CCJP Assistant Project Officer Rhoda Ng’ambi emphasized the importance of every eligible citizen exercising their right to vote to choose leaders who will govern Malawi for the next five years.

She urged communities to maintain peace and unity and to participate in the elections without violence or intimidation.

Austin Mulimbika of Thawani Village, Traditional Authority Mwambo, commended CCJP for the initiative and called on fellow villagers to actively take part in the polls.

The CCJP initiative is part of a voter participation project ahead of the 2025 Malawi General Elections, funded by UNDP through the Malawi Electoral Support Project (MESP).
