ANSAH RALLIES DPP EASTERN REGION IN GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION DRIVE

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) running mate Dr. Jane Ansah on Thursday held a strategic engagement meeting with the party’s Eastern Region Committee in Ntcheu District — a politically significant area central to the party’s mobilization efforts ahead of the 2025 general elections.

Dr. Ansah, a senior counsel and former chairperson of the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), addressed the regional leadership with a message of unity, discipline, and renewed commitment to the DPP’s comeback agenda.

She underscored the need for robust structures at the regional level and called on officials to remain focused and service-oriented. “DPP is poised to restore confidence among Malawians through a credible and issue-based campaign that addresses the country’s current economic and social hardships,” she said.

Dr. Ansah encouraged intensified grassroots mobilization, especially in response to growing voter apathy and political fatigue.

The Eastern Region Committee expressed strong support for Dr. Ansah’s leadership and her partnership with DPP presidential candidate Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika. Several members noted that her return to frontline politics has revitalized the party and enhanced its public image.

They pledged to step up efforts to consolidate support across the region and ensure the DPP’s message reaches every household.

This meeting marks one of Dr. Ansah’s key regional visits since her nomination, signaling the party’s renewed commitment to reconnecting with its grassroots base. As the 2025 elections near, such engagements are expected to shape the DPP’s electoral strategy.

In closing, Dr. Ansah urged party loyalists to uphold peace and unity, reminding them that earning public trust starts with exemplary conduct and shared purpose.
