Leader of Opposition in Parliament Simplex Chithyola Banda has asked Speaker of National Assembly to rule that members should stop discussing on the issue to do with plane crash which killed nine people including the Vice president late Dr. Saulos Chilima.
Speaking to the media Chithyola argued that as the house is waiting for the report from the Minister of Justice Charles Mhango, the house should wait until the report comes in the house.
“I asked the speaker to suspend the plane crash until the minister of justice brings the report in the August house. Those that have evidence can give to the minister before the report in brought in Parliament “,Said Chithyola.
Members from both sides have repeatedly demanded fresh enquiry on the tragedy following the contradicted information which were being provided by government officials on the matter.
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for Mchinji North Anthony Masamba also asked government to consider compensating bereaved families indicating that they are suffering following the death of their members who were taking care of them.
Tension comes in the house as any member brings the issues which does not please some members from.MCP.
