Malawi’s deputy minister of Homeland Security Norman Chisale has warned criminals that Malawi Police Service will not play with them as it used to be during previous regime.
Chisale was speaking at a Thank You rally organized by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) at Chilimampunga ground in Lilongwe.
“Let me warn all criminals including all perpetrators that from tomorrow Monday, Hon. Peter Mukhito and myself we are taking a step to clean all criminal activities in the country”, he said.
Chisale said police is ready to deal with everyone involved in criminal activities in order to make sure that lives and properties of people are safe.
On release of suspected panga thugs, he indicated that should not blame the police for the release because the courts use the laws of the land when dealing with any case.
He further promised that police will arrest fellow police officer who injured Ms. Brenda Saidi at Lilongwe police station when she went to see vice president for centre Alfred Gangata.
‘I know the one who injured Ms. Brenda Said on that particular day when she went to cheer hon. Gangata at Lilongwe police”, said Chisale.
Chisale who is also DPP National Youth Director suffered arrests during Malawi Congress Party (MCP) regime and was appointed as deputy minister of Homeland security by President Peter Mutharika.
