A 28-year-old woman who has given birth to triplets at Zomba Central Hospital is appealing for assistance from well-wishers after facing serious socio-economic challenges.
Estery Welemu, from Chingale Area, Kapitapa Village, under Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba District, delivered the triplets on Wednesday and is currently admitted to the hospital’s maternity ward, where she is receiving medical care.
Welemu is appealing for support in the form of food, diapers, clothes, soap, blankets, bedding and milk, explaining that her breast milk is sometimes not sufficient for the babies.
She said she already has three other children and, with the birth of the triplets, now has a total of six children to care for.
“I am in need of help and I am appealing to people of goodwill to assist me because my husband is not employed and we are struggling to make ends meet,” she said.
Those willing to assist can contact Estery Welemu on 0984 950 356.
