Legislator for Mangochi South West Constituency Dr Shadric Namalomba has urged all those who voted for the Democratic Progressive Party candidates in the September 16 elections to ensure they are actively participating in all development activities in their areas.
Dr Namalomba who is also Minister of Information and Communications Technology said if the DPP administration is to remain in power, every individual need to among others see to it that no corrupt dealings are being condoned in government programs such as the Farm Inputs Subsidy Program.
He was speaking on Thursday at Chilipa at GHV Njoka areas during New Year celebrations which were also organised to thank the people of Chilipa ward for massively voting for Professor Peter Mutharika as President of Malawi, Shadric Namalomba as MP for the area and Kumbolera as councillor, all from the DPP.
The legislator has since assured the people that plans to bring electricity in the area, construct a secondary school and a technical college are already in the pipeline and that construction of a health facility which started some time back will resume soon.
Dr Namalomba also assured the people that the DPP led administration will make sure that people have food by providing them with relief food while ensuring that all FISP beneficiaries have accessed the farm inputs which include fertilizer in good time but warned local leaders against engaging in any malpractices in the implementation of the program.
“I also want to assure you that begining this coming Monday the 5th of January, no learner in public primary school will be required to pay school fund and those in public secondary schools will be required to pay school fees because the government of Professor Peter Mutharika has abolished those.” He said.
Group Village Headman Njoka from senior Chief Chilipa area commended the lawmaker for sparing his time to celebrate the election victory and new year with his constituents and assured him of the chiefs support to ensure smooth implementation of development in the constituency.
Speaking at the New Year cerebration, DPP governor for Mangochi Salire Mdala while commending the Mangochi South West legislator for the gesture urged people in the area to rally behind Namalomba saying time for politicking is over.
During the celebrations which were characterised by lunch, dancing and football matches, the legislator slaughtered 5 cows for the constituents to eat.
