President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has assured residents of Zomba that the government is committed to the speedy completion of key development projects in the district, including the Zomba Stadium and Domasi Community Hospital. During a tour of these sites today, President Chakwera highlighted the advanced stages of construction and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to finalizing all ongoing projects and ensuring their long-term sustainability.
“The completion of these projects is a top priority for my administration,” President Chakwera stated. “We are committed to ensuring that Zomba receives the development it deserves, and the unity of its residents is a driving force behind these advancements.”
Minister of Local Government, Unity, and Culture, Richard Chimwendo Banda, accompanied the President on the tour and expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the Zomba Stadium. He described the stadium as an iconic piece of infrastructure that has significantly transformed the city’s landscape.
“The stadium represents a remarkable vision and a testament to President Chakwera’s leadership,” Banda said. “The construction will be completed in phases, and it stands as a symbol of our commitment to Zomba’s development.”
Zomba City Mayor, Christopher Jana, also commended President Chakwera for spearheading various development initiatives in the district. He highlighted the residents’ appreciation for the President’s visionary and development-oriented approach.
“The people of Zomba are highly impressed with President Chakwera’s leadership,” Mayor Jana remarked. “His commitment to our district’s progress is evident in the numerous projects underway.”
