Machinga Police have urged security personnel at Machinga Teachers Training College (TTC) to promptly report any suspicious individuals spotted on the college premises. The advice was given by Community Policing Coordinator, Sub Inspector Masautso Katemera, during an inspection of Chak Security Company personnel, who are responsible for the college’s security.
Katemera emphasized the importance of collaboration between the security guards and local community-based policing structures to enhance security. He highlighted concerns about thefts from trucks passing the college, particularly those traveling from Liwonde and ascending towards Machinga.
To address this issue, Katemera advised the Chak Security guards to extend their watch along the road near the college to ensure broader protection for passing trucks. He stressed the need for close cooperation between the guards and community policing members to maintain security both within and around the college.
Patrick Chilomo, a senior officer at Chak Security Company, expressed gratitude to Machinga Police for their visit and discussions on security matters. He pledged to work closely with local security structures to curb criminal activities along the Liwonde road.
