President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has urged residents of Dowa District to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, ensuring their right to vote in the 2025 General Elections. Speaking to a gathering at Chezi Trading Centre on Thursday, President Chakwera emphasized the importance of voter engagement and highlighted his administration’s dedication to uplifting the lives of people in the region through various developmental projects.
Chakwera highlighted initiatives such as expanding the Affordable Input Programme (AIP) and increasing National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) beneficiaries, both aimed at empowering communities and driving transformation. He assured residents of continued government efforts to improve access to clean drinking water and enhanced sanitation facilities, which are crucial for combating health issues in the area.
Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation Halima Daudi, who also serves as Member of Parliament for Dowa South East, expressed satisfaction with government-led infrastructure improvements, including new health facilities and road rehabilitation projects. She also praised the ongoing distribution of relief items to support families affected by food shortages.
