BISHOP CHAIMA URGES CHILDREN TO DEDICATE LIVES TO GOD

Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima of the Zomba Diocese has encouraged children aspiring to serve the Catholic Church as priests and religious sisters to dedicate their lives to God to ensure their service is guided by divine principles.

Speaking at Domasi Parish during a special Epiphany Mass celebrated globally by the Catholic Church, Bishop Chaima also called on parents to teach their children how to pray and nurture them in the Catholic faith.

“We teach children at a tender age, and it is important to prepare them to become good servants in the Catholic Church,” said Bishop Chaima.

Leticia Likanje, speaking on behalf of her peers, thanked Bishop Chaima for presiding over the Mass and appealed to church authorities to allow children to participate in services every Sunday, not just on Epiphany Sundays.

During the event, Bishop Chaima also launched the 2025 Pilgrims of Hope, a program established by Pope Francis at the end of 2024.
