MP MDOOKO INSTALLS SOLAR LIGHTS TO BOOST TRADE, SECURITY IN SHARPE VALLEY

Member of Parliament for Ntcheu Bwanje North, Nancy Chaola Mdooko, has installed solar-powered lights at Sharpe Valley to enhance the trading environment at night and improve security.

Speaking during the switch-on ceremony, Mdooko said the lights would also benefit motorcycle operators, who often work late hours.

“It is my wish to install solar-powered lights in all trading centers in Ntcheu Bwanje North to create a safe and conducive business environment,” she said.

Mdooko, an independent MP, previously installed similar lights at Kasinje Trading Center two years ago using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). She urged residents of Sharpe Valley to take care of the new equipment.

“Traders and motorcycle operators complained about poor lighting, which forced them to close early. I listened to their concerns, and that’s why I installed these solar-powered floodlights,” Mdooko explained.

Local trader Catherine Mulenga Chibwe praised the initiative, stating that the new lights would allow businesses to operate until 10 p.m., boosting economic activity in the area.
