PASSION CENTER EMPOWERS 14 YOUTHS WITH TOOLS AFTER VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Passion Center for the Children, a faith-based organization, has donated working tools to 14 youths who completed a six-month vocational training program in tailoring, carpentry, and bricklaying at its school in Zomba District.

The training equips participants with practical skills to start their own workshops and become self-reliant.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Executive Director Pastor Saul Mateyu urged the graduates to use the donated tools to establish businesses, thereby creating employment for themselves and others. He emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in light of limited job opportunities in the country.

Pastor Mateyu also announced plans to expand the program by increasing the number of trainees and introducing new vocational courses to reach more youths. Currently, the center offers training in tailoring, carpentry, and bricklaying.

Zomba District Council Youth Department official Enock Chabwera, who was guest of honour, praised the initiative for aligning with the Malawi 2063 development agenda. He encouraged the graduates to pursue business ventures and uphold honesty and integrity.

One of the graduates, Davie Ndala, expressed gratitude to Passion Center, saying the skills gained will transform their lives and help them contribute to national development.

Since its inception in 2023, Passion Center’s vocational program has trained over 47 youths.
