UK-BASED MALAWIAN ENTREPRENEUR CHAMPIONS GIRL-CHILD EMPOWERMENT AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Malawian-born entrepreneur Ellie Kisyombe, now based in the United Kingdom, is making a significant impact back home through her commitment to community development and girl-child empowerment.

Despite living abroad, Kisyombe has remained firmly connected to her roots, guided by her parents’ advice to “never forget home and her people.” This principle continues to inspire her work in Malawi, where she is spearheading a range of transformative initiatives.

She is set to launch a private Culinary and Hospitality Training School, an ambitious project designed to equip young Malawians with practical skills relevant to the job market. In addition, she runs an organic farm in Mbavi, Lilongwe, which not only promotes sustainable agriculture but also provides employment opportunities for local residents.

Through both her training school and farm, Kisyombe is offering hands-on education to the youth, with a particular focus on empowering girls and young women to achieve economic independence.

Her advocacy extends beyond grassroots projects. She regularly shares insights on social issues through opinion articles and actively engages her growing audience on social media, keeping them informed about her ongoing initiatives.

Ellie Kisyombe’s journey is one of resilience, purpose, and giving back—a testament to the power of staying true to one’s roots while striving to create lasting impact.
