THREE NEW MINISTERS SWORN IN AT SANJIKA PALACE

Three newly appointed Cabinet Ministers on Tuesday took their Oaths of Office and Oaths of Allegiance at a ceremony held at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre, pledging to serve the nation with dedication and integrity.

The ceremony, presided over by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, marked the official assumption of duties for the new ministers.

Dr. George Chaponda, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Malawi’s interests both locally and internationally. Chaponda, a seasoned public servant, previously served as Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, as well as Minister of Education, Science and Technology.

Joseph Mwanamveka Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development

Joseph Mwanamveka also took his oath as Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development. An experienced economist and banker, Mwanamveka pledged to serve Malawians with dedication and professionalism, focusing on strengthening fiscal management and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Minister of State Alfred Gangata was also sworn in, committing himself to serve the nation diligently in his new portfolio.

The ceremony further witnessed the swearing-in of Dr. Justin Saidi as Chief Secretary to the Government and Stuart Ligomeka as Deputy Chief Secretary.

President Mutharika congratulated the appointees and urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, and commitment to national service.
