AUXILIARY BISHOP MWAKHWAWA URGES CHRISTIANS TO BE LIKE A LUMP

Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe, Vincent Mwakhwawa, has urged Catholic Christians in the country to be like lamp lighting to all people and to be like salt that seasons food. Bishop Mwakhwawa said this at Ntcheu Parish in the Diocese of Dedza during the launch of the “National Catholic Laity Day” with the theme “Christians are missionaries of hope; be converted and live”.He asked Catholic Christians to rejoice over the establishment of their day and told them to follow the teachings of their church. Bishop Mwakhwawa who was the main celebrant told Christians to be a light shining to all people and salt seasoning food, and to be proud and honor the church.Bishop Mwakhwawa urged Catholic Christians in the country to avoid engaging in corrupt practices at their workplaces but instead demonstrate good conduct. He also criticized some Catholics who like to post negative things on social media and use phones during mass, saying these actions aren’t befitting for a Catholic Christian.”What I’m asking you is to continue serving the church with your talents and helping the church with your resources” said Bishop Mwakhwawa.Speaking at the event, National Catholic Laity Chair, Hastings Ferix Dowe, expressed happiness over the establishment of this day which Catholic Christians have been eagerly awaiting. Dowe asked Christians to support the church generously for the Catholic Church to function well.Representatives of Catholic laity from all eight (8) Dioceses in the country attended the launch of the National Catholic Laity Day.
