MANGOCHI CCAP CHURCH TARGETS K20 MILLION FOR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The Mangochi CCAP Church under Blantyre Synod says it expects to raise K20 million through its upcoming celebration marking 74 years since its establishment in 1951.

The church’s minister, Reverend Chikondi Achinangolo Wyson Banda, confirmed the development in an interview with Mzati, saying the event will take place on Sunday, 7 December this year and will feature various activities, including a history showcase, fundraising sessions and communal meals.

Rev Banda said the funds raised will support several development projects within the church, including the purchase of a bus to facilitate church-related transport.

He added that this year’s celebration will be held under the theme “Grounded and Rooted in Him.”

Mangochi CCAP, which falls under the Mangochi Presbytery of the Blantyre Synod, was founded in 1951 with only 20 members and has since grown to a membership of 3,151.

The church also oversees four smaller prayer houses and continues to develop various infrastructure projects, including a multipurpose hall and a school.

Rev Banda said the anniversary is not only a celebration of the church’s growth but also a call for members to strengthen their unity and commitment to service
