President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed MUBAS language and communication lecturer Chembekezo Focus Maganga as Director of Communication in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC).
Maganga joined the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences-(MUBAS) in 2016 as a lecturer,
Before joining academia he worked as a journalist for Nation Publications Limited and later served as a Community Manager at Music Crossroads Malawi.
Maganga holds a Master’s degree in Public Health, specialising in Social and Behaviour Change Communication, from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from MUBAS, class of 2010.
Mutharika also appointed former Presidential Press Secretary, Mgeme Kalirani, as Deputy Director of Information in the Ministry of Information.
