GANGATA CALLS FOR PROFESSIONALISM, INTEGRITY AMONG NATURAL RESOURCES WORKERS

Minister of Natural Resources, Honourable Alfred Gangata, MP, has urged officers under his ministry to discharge their duties with greater professionalism, saying this is the only way to achieve the ministry’s desired goals.

The minister made the remarks on Tuesday during an interface meeting with staff from departments under the Ministry of Natural Resources, which he attended alongside the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Honourable Chipiliro Mpinganjira, MP.

Honourable Gangata said the time has come for officers within the ministry to execute their duties with integrity and passion for the betterment of the country.

“Today’s meeting is aimed at fostering unity, motivation, and a shared commitment to public service. Let us be innovative and think outside the box if we are to change the status quo. As public servants, you need to improve performance, act professionally, and think innovatively,” said Gangata.

He emphasized that public service comes with a responsibility to remain accountable to the people of Malawi, acknowledging that while officers may face challenges in their daily work, the ministry will strive to address them.

The minister further said he was impressed with the way officers in the Ministry of Natural Resources are discharging their duties and encouraged them to do even more.

During the meeting, departments including Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS), Environment Affairs (EAD), and Forestry made presentations on their work and progress.
