First Lady Madam Professor Gertrude Mutharika has praised the Muslim World League for its continued partnership with Beautify Malawi Trust (BEAM) in implementing livelihood support and hygiene promotion interventions across Malawi.
She made the remarks at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe during a ceremony where the Muslim World League presented a cheque amounting to K25 million in support of BEAM programmes.
Madam Mutharika described the contribution as timely and strategic, noting that it strengthens BEAM’s capacity to deliver impactful community-based initiatives.
She emphasized that the partnership is critical to the successful implementation of BEAM’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, which is scheduled for official launch on February 27.
The First Lady highlighted that the collaboration aligns with national development priorities, particularly in empowering vulnerable communities and improving public health outcomes.
Executive Advisor for the Muslim World League, Sheikh Walid Rashid El Saadi, reaffirmed the League’s commitment to supporting BEAM’s mission.
He stated that the Muslim World League will continue investing in initiatives aimed at saving the girl child and promoting access to education.
Sheikh El Saadi further emphasized the League’s focus on improving health and general hygiene standards in schools and other institutions across the country.
