The leadership of the Parliamentary Press Gallery has been invited to the 2026 Annual Media and Access to Information Conference organised by the Media Council of Malawi.
The invitation recognises the important role played by journalists covering Parliament in promoting access to information and enhancing public understanding of parliamentary proceedings in Malawi.
Chairperson of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, Robert Mbetewa, says the conference will provide an important platform for discussing challenges affecting media access to information.
Mbetewa says the gathering will also allow journalists and other stakeholders to explore ways of improving access to information and creating a conducive working environment for parliamentary reporters.
He says discussions at the conference are expected to strengthen cooperation between the media and relevant stakeholders in promoting access to information.
The Media Council of Malawi continues to bring together media practitioners and stakeholders through various platforms aimed at addressing challenges facing the media industry and promoting access to information.
