Malawi and Vietnam have officially established diplomatic relations following the signing of an agreement on Monday, 23 September 2024. The agreement was witnessed by Honourable Nancy Tembo, Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and her Vietnamese counterpart, His Excellency Bui Thang Son.
Her Excellency Agnes Chimbiri-Molande, Malawi’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and His Excellency Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnam’s UN Ambassador, signed the agreement on behalf of the two nations. The agreement aims to promote and strengthen bilateral cooperation across various developmental sectors.
Speaking prior to the signing, Honourable Tembo emphasized the importance of this agreement as a foundation for deeper collaboration and partnerships that will benefit both countries.
