CHAKWERA CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNITY AHEAD OF 2025 GENERAL ELECTIONS

President Lazarus Chakwera has issued a heartfelt appeal for peace and unity as Malawi gears up for its 2025 General Elections. Speaking to a gathering at Chikuse Trading Centre in Dedza, President Chakwera underscored the importance of national harmony during the election season and reiterated his administration’s commitment to fair and equitable distribution of government services.

In his address, President Chakwera highlighted the critical role that unity will play in ensuring a smooth election process, encouraging all Malawians to come together in support of a peaceful and transparent democratic exercise.

“As we approach the 2025 General Elections, I call on all Malawians to embrace peace, unity, and mutual respect. Let us work together to build a nation that thrives on cooperation, regardless of our differences,” Chakwera said.

The president also assured the public that his administration remains steadfast in promoting fair access to essential government programs. Notably, he emphasized the Affordable Input Programme and social cash transfer schemes, pledging continued support to ensure these services reach the most vulnerable communities.

Minister of Local Government Richard Chimwendo Banda, who also addressed the gathering, echoed the president’s message. Banda urged residents of Dedza to take part in the ongoing voter registration for the upcoming elections, emphasizing that active participation in the democratic process is crucial for a fair and representative outcome.

The 2025 elections are seen as a pivotal moment for Malawi, and President Chakwera’s call for peace and unity reflects a vision for a stable and prosperous future for all Malawians.
