FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has announced the appointment of Heston Muthali as the new head coach of the reserve team.
Muthali, who was overlooked for the senior team role when Peter Mponda was appointed head coach, has been with the club since 2017. Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga confirmed the appointment, highlighting Muthali’s growth within the club.
“As a club, we have decided to appoint Coach Heston Muthali. He joined Bullets in 2017 with a FAM C license, and the club has supported his development to a CAF B license, which qualifies him to lead the reserve side,” Chigoga stated.
Chigoga emphasized Muthali’s experience, having served as an assistant coach and strikers’ trainer for over seven years. “His experience assures us that the team is in safe hands,” he added.
Muthali welcomed the challenge and expressed confidence in his ability to develop young players.
“I have worked under two great coaches, Ellia Kananji and Calisto Pasuwa, and I will apply what I have learned to the reserve team,” Muthali said. “Mr. Chatama has already laid the foundation, and I will continue his work to produce talented players for the senior squad.”
The club’s management has pledged full support for Muthali in his new role.
