The United Democratic Front (UDF) has officially opened the campaign period ahead of its primary elections, set to begin on March 20, 2025.
Party spokesperson Dyson Jangiya announced that the first phase of the elections will take place from March 20 to 27 in Machinga, Mangochi, and Zomba.
He also warned that any party leader found compromising the election process would face suspension.
“The party will suspend anyone who acts against the election procedure,” Jangiya stated.
He added that the date for the second phase of the UDF primaries will be announced later.
Meanwhile, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has already begun conducting its primary elections, while the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is also expected to start its primaries this month.
