The Catholic Bishop of Zomba Diocese, Rt. Rev. Alfred Mateyu Chaima, has equipped staff from the Catholic Development Commission of Malawi (CADECOM) with knowledge on Catholic Social Teaching, as part of the ongoing Caritas Jubilee celebrations.
Speaking during a session held at St. Peter’s Cathedral in the Mzuzu Diocese, Bishop Chaima emphasized that Catholic Social Teaching is essential for all Church workers, regardless of their specific roles or affiliations.
“This body of teaching is not only important for understanding but must also be applied practically in all project implementations,” he said. “In everything we do, we must uphold and respect human dignity.”
Anastanzio Makhulula from the Zomba Diocese CADECOM Office expressed gratitude, noting that the training will enhance their work and commitment to service.
The Caritas Jubilee Celebration and the 10th Anniversary of Laudato Si’ are being held at St. Peter’s Cathedral Hall in Mzuzu Diocese from 3rd to 5th June 2025.
