President Lazarus Chakwera has reaffirmed his commitment to working with faith leaders to promote unity, love, and the welfare of Malawians.
The President made the remarks at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe during the consecration of Bishop Daniel Kalonga as the 4th Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi.
Chakwera highlighted the critical role of unity and love, calling on all Malawians to embrace these values as the country prepares for the upcoming election campaign period.
He also pledged his full support to the Anglican Church, applauding its contributions to shaping national values and supporting Malawi’s development agenda.
On behalf of the church, Anglican Council of Malawi Chairperson Reverend William Mchombo thanked the government for its support and reaffirmed the Council’s readiness to collaborate with the state for the common good of all Malawians.
