MASANGWI, NAMALOMBA QUIZZED BY ACB OVER ALLEGED ILLEGAL EXPORTS

Noel Masangwi, a senior member of the UTM party and prominent businessman, is currently at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) offices in Blantyre, where he is being questioned in connection with allegations of illegally exporting prohibited goods several years ago.

The Truth Malawi has established that ACB officials summoned Masangwi yesterday to provide a detailed explanation regarding the nature of his business operations, particularly concerning exports that may have contravened government regulations.

This development comes just hours after the ACB arrested Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) spokesperson, Shadreck Namalomba, over a similar matter. Namalomba spent the night at Blantyre Police Station and is also expected to appear in court today.

There is growing anticipation that both Masangwi and Namalomba will face formal charges related to the alleged illegal trade activities.

Meanwhile, dozens of DPP supporters have gathered at Blantyre Police Station, demanding transparency and clarity from the authorities. Some of them have accused the ACB of selective justice, alleging that the delayed action stems from the political influence of the individuals involved.
