Newly sworn-in legislator for Lilongwe Mtandire–Mtsiriza, Alfred Gangata, has expressed gratitude to God following his victory in the September 16 by-election.
Gangata, who took the oath of office earlier today, said the win was a blessing and a responsibility he is ready to embrace on behalf of his constituents.

He said his immediate focus is to settle into his parliamentary duties while consulting widely on the priorities of the people who elected him.
