GANGATA URGES CCAP LIVINGSTONIA SYNOD MEMBERS TO DRIVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Alfred Gangata has challenged members of the CCAP Livingstonia Synod to remain committed to development initiatives that strengthen both the church and the surrounding communities.

Gangata made the remarks in Lilongwe when he attended a fundraising event organised by churches under the Synod’s Lilongwe Presbytery at Area 47 CCAP Church, which falls within his constituency of Lilongwe Mtandire.

During the event, the minister pledged K40 million to the fundraising drive, supporting various church programmes and activities.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, Gangata commended the church for taking the initiative to mobilize local resources, noting that such efforts are vital to sustaining key programs, including evangelism, education, and the welfare of ministers within the Synod.

The fundraising event also attracted several Malawian football legends who came to support the initiative. Among those present were Lawrence Waya, Kinnah Phiri, Spy Msiska, Young Chimodzi, Ernest Mtawali, Peter Kaira, and Chance Vinny Gondwe.

The football icons joined congregants in supporting the church initiative aimed at raising funds for the Synod’s General Elective Assembly scheduled for August.
