PRESIDENT CHAKWERA THANKS CHURCHES FOR PRAYING FOR THE NATION.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Sunday thanked churches in the country for their intercessory prayers on different issues affecting the nation.

Chakwera was speaking at Lingadzi CCAP Church of the Synod of Livingstonia in Lilongwe, where he attended a church service.

“We are where we are as a nation because of your prayers, both publicly and privately,” he said.

The Malawian leader, who also donated K3 Million towards church projects, encouraged the church to continue promoting the culture of self-reliance among Christians to develop the nation.

In his speech before presenting a gift to the State President, Rev. David Salimoni of Lingadzi CCAP Church thanked the president for choosing to attend the church service at their church.

He also commended Dr. Chakwera for leading the nation during the National Service of Worship at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) as part of the 60th Independence Anniversary.

Reverend Salimoni assured the president that the church will continue praying for him and the nation, considering the difficult times the nation has passed through in the past years.

“We have passed through difficult times in the past years, ranging from Covid-19, the cholera pandemic, cyclones, El-Nino, and recently the loss of the country’s Vice President, Dr. Saulos Chilima,” he said.

He further thanked the president for the donation of K3 Million towards the church projects.
