PRESIDENT CHAKWERA INAUGURATES CAPE MACLEAR ROAD, PROMISES SUSTAINABLE MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has reassured citizens that the government remains committed to constructing modern roads using cutting-edge technologies to ensure their long-term sustainability. He made these remarks during the official opening of the Cape Maclear Road in the area of Senior Chief Namkumba in Mangochi District.

During the ceremony, President Chakwera emphasized the importance of competence among construction industry professionals. He urged them to adopt and implement contemporary approaches in road construction to ensure sustainability.

“The newly constructed Cape Maclear Road is not just a testament to our commitment to infrastructure development, but it is also a vital artery that will greatly enhance mobility for both local and international tourists, as well as the communities in Mangochi,” President Chakwera stated.

Second Deputy Secretary General for the Malawi Congress Party, Gerald Kazembe, commended President Chakwera for spearheading this development. He noted that the new road signifies a new era of progress in the advancement of Mangochi and the entire nation.
