His Excellency, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, on Monday toured Agri-Vest Macadamia Estate situated in Chiponde, Namwera, in the area of Senior Chief Bwananyambi in Mangochi District. This visit is part of a series of engagements focused on appreciating development projects and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Eastern Region, where the President has been operating from since last week.

The Agri-Vest Macadamia Estate employs both rain-fed and irrigation methods to cultivate its crops, aligning with President Chakwera’s vision of transforming Malawi into a food basket through Mega Farms that harness irrigation and mechanized agriculture. In addition to macadamia production, the estate is also engaged in groundnut farming and sheep breeding.
