Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Eastern Region, Bright Msaka, has expressed confidence in the leadership of the newly appointed Regional Governor, Daud Chikwanje.
Msaka made these remarks on Saturday during a meeting between Chikwanje and the regional executive committee, where Chikwanje introduced himself to the team.
“The party is optimistic that Chikwanje’s leadership will inject renewed energy into the region,” Msaka stated.
In his address, Chikwanje assured the executive members of his full commitment to the party, pledging to work closely with them to achieve the party’s objectives.
This was the first meeting chaired by Chikwanje since his appointment by DPP President Peter Mutharika last week.
Several members in the region expressed hope that Chikwanje’s leadership will positively impact the party as the nation prepares for the upcoming general elections next year.
Meanwhile, former Regional Governor Imran Ntenje has been promoted to serve as an advisor to party president Peter Mutharika.
