CHISALE FOUND WITH CASE TO ANSWER IN MDF CERTIFICATE THEFT CASE

The Chief Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has ruled that Norman Chisale, former president Peter Mutharika’s personal bodyguard, has a case to answer in connection to the alleged theft of a certificate belonging to Pythias Hiwa for recruitment into the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) in 1996.

Presiding over the matter, Judge Madalitso Chimwaza, sitting as Chief Resident Magistrate, determined that Chisale must answer all three charges leveled against him. The charges include impersonation of the person named in the certificate, presenting false information to a public service officer, and intimidation.

Chisale’s lawyer, Gilbert Khonyongwa, has requested additional time for the defense to plan its strategy for the case’s next stage.

The development marks a significant step in the legal proceedings as the court moves toward hearing Chisale’s defense on the allegations.
