The Women Judges Association of Malawi (WOJAM) has urged students in Ntchisi to work hard in school to achieve academic excellence and pursue professional careers such as law and other productive fields.
WOJAM delivered this message during a career talk at Malomo Community Day Secondary School, Mbomba Community Day Secondary School, and Mkweche Primary School in Ntchisi, aiming to inspire learners.

Speaking at Malomo Community Day Secondary School, WOJAM President Justice Jean Kayira encouraged students to prepare diligently for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations. She emphasized the importance of passing with good grades to secure places in universities and colleges for tertiary education.
She also advised girls to avoid early relationships, warning that engaging in sexual activities could hinder their educational progress.
“Education is the key to a successful life,” said Justice Kayira.
Justice Fiona Mwale echoed this sentiment, assuring students that becoming a judge is possible if they work hard to fulfill their dreams.
Malomo Community Day Secondary School Head Teacher, Emma Chikakula, praised WOJAM for motivating students to aim higher.
WOJAM members who participated in the career talk included Justices Zione Ntaba, Msekandiana, Chimwaza, and Pemba, as well as Counsel Janet Kamoto, Counsel Nyanda, and Professor Kayira.
On the same day, WOJAM celebrated the 95th birthday of Alice Catherine Kavwenje at Kwendakwina Village, T/A Chilooko in Ntchisi. Recently, WOJAM named Kavwenje as a role model for girls’ education under the Nzotheka project.
Kavwenje, who lost her husband in 1982, single-handedly educated her 11 children, most of whom pursued higher education and secured professional careers.
