MALAWI SENDS 15 MORE STUDENTS TO MOROCCO ON SCHOLARSHIP

The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwila, on February 4, 2025, bid farewell to 15 students departing for Morocco on a government scholarship at Kamuzu International Airport.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony, Dr. Kabwila highlighted the scholarship as a symbol of Malawi’s commitment to educational excellence and international collaboration. She noted that 69 students had previously been sent to Morocco, and with the latest group, the total now stands at 84. An additional 16 students will depart next week, bringing the total to 100.

“As you embark on your journey, remember that you are ambassadors of Malawi, strengthening ties between our nations. Your experiences will not only enrich your lives but also reinforce the shared aspirations for progress that unite us,” she said.

Moroccan Ambassador Naji Abdelkader emphasized the significance of the scholarship, congratulating the students on their achievement.

“The knowledge and experiences you gain in Morocco will empower you to foster positive change in your communities. Upon your return, you will be equipped to contribute significantly to Malawi’s development,” he stated.

This initiative aims to enhance skills and promote international cooperation, benefiting both Malawi and Morocco.
