CHIWOKO PRIMARY CONDEMNS CLASSROOM MISUSE, PLANS SECURITY MEASURES

The School Management Committee at Chiwoko Primary School in Lilongwe has raised concerns over some community members using classrooms for sexual activities, compromising the school’s hygiene and learning environment.

Speaking during a parents’ meeting on Saturday, committee members warned that security personnel will be recruited to catch those involved.

“It is worrisome that some community members treat classrooms as resthouses. We often find used condoms inside,” said one committee member.

The Parents Teachers Association (PTA), school committee, and local chiefs urged parents to spread the message, warning that those caught will face embarrassment. They noted that both youths and adults have been engaging in this misconduct.

Besides addressing the issue, the meeting also discussed repairing four school block roofs. Parents agreed to contribute K1,000 per learner for eight months, aiming to complete maintenance by September 2025, with one block repaired each month.
