The Government Negotiating Team (GNT) and the Civil Servants Trade Union (CSTU) have agreed on a 20% salary increase for civil servants, effective April 1, 2025.
Confirming the development, GNT chairperson Charles Kalemba and CSTU secretary general Titha Gomani stated that the agreed salary hike averages 18% across different categories.
Gomani also revealed that transport and special allowances will rise by 50%, while the leave grant will increase within a range of 10% to 40%.
The agreement marks a significant adjustment for civil servants, who have been advocating for better pay and improved working conditions.
