Deputy Minister of Transport, Steven Malondera, has directed stakeholders to convene immediately to fast-track the resumption of passenger flights at the newly rehabilitated Mzuzu Airport.
Speaking after touring the airport’s extended runway, Malondera emphasized the urgency of the matter, urging Malawi Airlines and the Department of Civil Aviation to expedite all necessary protocols.
“The runway extension is now complete, and it is crucial that flights start operating as soon as possible,” he stated.
The move is expected to boost air travel and economic activity in northern Malawi.
